In this tutorial, you will learn how to add Savvas content into the Canvas Rich Text Editor, either within a Canvas Page or within the instructions area of a Canvas Assignment. This option is particularly useful for including materials that are not intended for grading or inclusion in the Canvas Gradebook.
Teachers: If these steps are not available to you, please contact your Canvas administrator as access to the Rich Content Editor toolbar is an account-permissioned feature.

You can easily add links to Savvas content using the Canvas Rich Text Editor in either a Canvas Page or a Canvas Assignment.

In the example below, we will demonstrate how to utilize the RTE in Canvas using a Canvas Page. The same steps can be followed to add Savvas content to the RTE in a Canvas Assignment.

In the RTE, locate the icon resembling a lamp plug.
If you see the "Savvas Course Connect" option in the dropdown list, select it. If not, click on "View All."
If you selected "View All," scroll through the list of external tools until you find the "Savvas Course Connect" option.

This tutorial assumes you completed the "Step 1a: Add Savvas content as assigments" tutorial and understand how to subscribe to Savvas programs and how to find content using the Table of Contents, Search, and My Library.
Choose one or multiple Savvas items to import into the RTE.
If you selected more than one item from Savvas Realize, Canvas will not seperate the links for you. You will need to manually seperate the links and apply any formatting.
Once you formatted your links, click Save.
You will now see your page with the Savvas Realize links.
The Savvas Realize links will now provide access to this Realize assignment. The assignment will save student work in Realize, and as the teacher, you can review the students' work and even provide a grade and feedback in Realize. However, since this is not a Canvas Assignment, grades are not passed back from Realize to Canvas.
